The Wizard and I

Two words to describe this:
Miracle Tickets

It was a long journey getting these tickets, but it was well worth it. The show was amazing. I was so happy that I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest in the joy I felt. Oh man it was good.

Easter Fun!

Last year Easter came early, so this was Grace's first Easter celebration! We had a unsuccessful Easter egg hunt, but she still had fun playing with the two eggs she did get.

We had a hard time getting a good shot in her Easter dress (made by my mom!). Oh well, I will just try again next time she wears it!

My Husband the Rocker

Last weekend Dave and his band had a concert at the Murray theater. It was a fantastic venue! So here is a little (poorly videotaped by me) snack of the music the made that night. Enjoy "this New Empire."

Afterwards we ate at Albertos, it was tasty...here is a picture of me and Dave fat and happy after eating.

Grace turns One!

Grace's birthday was last Friday, April 3rd. She really lived it up! We were in Las Vegas meeting up with my parents for the weekend, so she celebrated in style in sin city. Okay not really, I made her a cake at the condo we stayed at and we watched her eat it...that was the extent of her celebration! Then she "opened" her seriously cute presents from my parents and sister. We spent the weekend swimming, eating, going to the temple (Dave and I went while Grace was babysat by her Nani and Nana), shopping and simply relaxing. Grace loved the pool and her new crab floaty, I will put some pictures below.

When we got back from the trip we had a little birthday celebration at our house with the fam from Dave's side. Once again she got to eat cake and open awesome presents! Thanks for celebrating with us guys! She is having a great time playing with new toys and wearing new clothes.

It is hard to believe that it has been a whole year since Grace joined our family. At the same time, we feel like she has been around forever. Grace was born right before midnight on a Thursday and weighed in at 9 pounds 11 ounces. Here is a picture of our little Gracie in all her swollen cuteness when she was born:

Grace is learning and growing so fast, that I can hardly keep up with her! She now weighs over 23 pounds and is 33inches long.
Here are some of the things that characterize Grace today:
*loves to show her tongue and will show it to you when asked
*cruises and crawls like a champ, though still not walking
*can stand without support
*loves to blow raspberries
*can say dada and mama and various other jibber jabber
*likes to carry around bags
*loves to swing at the park
*likes to be chased around the house
*likes dancing with her dad and likes to poke him in face
*has learned that her crip mattress is bouncy
*likes to listen to Backyardigans and dance to them
*pulls stuff out of every bag she can get her hands on
*throws her sippy when she is done with it
*occasionally sings along when Dave and I sing
*has a piercing scream
*loves asparagus, spaghetti and mardarin oranges
*likes books, but doesn't often let me finish actually reading a book
*shakes her head no
*goes off by herself to do her "diaper business" and then comes back to you when she is done
*hates the blow dryer

We were having a hard time getting Grace to smile the night of her party here, oh well.

Running away from the snow

We are off to Vegas to meet Nani and Nana (my parents)! While we are there we will celebrate Grace's first birthday, soak up the sun, eat a lot and maybe do some shopping. See you soon!
