Out with the Old...in with the Semi-New

When Dave and I got married we were in need of another car to get me to school. We were short on funds and time (classes were quickly starting), then wonderful Sarah and Cody offered to sell us their car for a fantastic price and problem was solved! (thanks!) Then I realized I would have to learn to drive stick and that was a Huge challenge in itself! I learned after many lessons and forced practicing (I had to get to school like I said!) and grew to enjoy the control. The contour has served us well. We have driven to Spokane in it, to Las Vegas and there was a time when I was spending a lot of time in that car everyday. Sadly the car is old and has been in the shop almost nonstop over the last year. Though the guys at PK Auto probably love us, I was sick of taking it in all the time(at least that's how it felt). So we did some evaluating and some research and took the step to buy a new car! Now this may not sound very exciting to other people, but neither Dave or myself have ever had the chance to go and pick out a car for ourselves, we have both always driven "hand me downs." It was way fun to go and do some test drives and check out the different vehicles. I was the "skeptical, picky wife" and Dave was the "you better get this fixed before I buy it nazi." We are happy to say that we settled on a Pontiac Aztek 2003. I was appalled by the color when I first saw it, but I have to admit that it is growing on me. We can't wait to take a fun road trip in it! Three best features: the AC works, trunk space is huge and it is an automatic! Hooray for another step into being an adult!
Here is a picture of the kind of car we got, I will post real pictures later. It is a slightly strange looking car, but we like it!

As for other news I went to go see Mama Mia with Emily and loved loved it! Meryl Streep has to be one of my favorite actresses, she did great! I would see this again for sure! Dave and I played Rock Band with Mike and Chrissy, so fun! We are glad to have them back! We swam and ate yummy food on the 24th and took a few drives in the new car! Grace is still cute as can be, she loves to chat, kick her legs and dance around with her daddy!

Also...I did some looking into Wicked coming here in April 2009 because I am so very excited! The date we can buy tickets is not yet announced, but I did notice that we can get some discounts and buy early if we have a group of twenty or more. If you think this is doable let me know because I know a lot of people have expressed interest in seeing the show.

I actually really like it! Brian has similar ones in his fleet and they are really popular for the same reasons you said - good gas mileage, lotsa space, etc.
Someday we will join you in grown-up world by buying a new car. We still cruise around in our hand-me-downs. Oh well. BTW - i love the new look of your blog!! I dont know when you changed it, I hope it hasnt been a long time and Im just totally sloooowww in commenting...
